Japan Open badminton highlights: PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal crash out, K Srikanth progresses

PV Sindhu lost in straight games to Nozomi Okuhara in the second round of women’s singles at the $325,000 Japan Open Superseries badminton in Tokyo today. This was their ninth career meeting and now Nozomi leads 5-4. Saina Nehwal too crashed out after losing to Olympic champion Carolina Marin in straight games at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. While Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy won to enter the men’s singles quarterfinals, Sameer Verma lost his second round contest.
