Kuldeep Yadav created history as he became the third Indian bowler to take a hat-trick to put India on course for a win against Australia at Eden Gardens. Kuldeep joined Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev as the other Indian bowlers to have achieved this feat. Marcus Stoinis fought for Australia with an aggressive fifty while Steve Smith also chipped in with a gritty fifty but Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up his third wicket to help India win the Kolkata ODI by 50 runs and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Earlier, Virat Kohli’s 92 and Ajinkya Rahane’s 20th fifty helped India reach 252 all out. This is Australia’s first ODI loss at the Eden Gardens and it extends their woeful streak away from home where they have lost 10 out of their last 12 overseas encounters.
