In the all-Indian semi-final, played over two sessions at the Karnataka State Billiards Association hall, the 23-year-old Bangalorean shut-out the veteran who appeared to be off-colour in the first outing.

Advani led 726-425 in the first session and then made it 1269-1003 in the second to emerge a deserving winner.

Advani is in line for a double title in the ongoing championship as he had already pocketed the point format of the championship on Friday, defeating eight time champion Sethi in an one-sided affair.

Advani will meet Devendra Joshi in the final to be played on Wednesday. In the other semifinal, Joshi notched a 1228-820 win over Rupesh Shah. Joshi led 551-361 after the first session.

Meanwhile, a disappointed Sethi said he failed to perform well in the match against Advani.

“My hand was still heavy and I could not control the ball well,” he said. “...I failed to perform well. It's sickening. I could see things going wrong but could not do anything about it.”
