Gaganjeet Bhullar is planning to make the most out of his debut at the Air Bagan Myanmar Open starting on Thursday. Bhullar, winner of the season-opening Asian Tour International in Thailand, is riding on a wave of confidence and is hoping to continue his stellar run in the $300,000 event, which is making a return to the Asian Tour after a four-year hiatus.

Rahil Gangjee, Digvijay Singh, C Muniyappa, Himmat Rai, Firoz Ali and Gaurav Pratap Singh are the other Indians in the fray. A strong field featuring 12 of the top-20 players from the Order of Merit has gathered at the Pun Hlaing Golf Club.

Shaurya ousts Mukesh

Shaurya Singh ousted top seed Mukesh Kumar to produce the biggest upset on Day I of the SRF All India Professional Matchplay Championship. While top contenders like defending champion Ashok Kumar, Gaurav Ghei and Shamim Khan advanced to the second round, big names such as Rahul Ganapathy, Arjun Singh and Vivek Bhandari made an early exit.

Shaurya Singh defeated Mukesh Kumar 2 Up. He will play R Srinivas, whose first round opponent Arjun Singh conceded the match on the fifth hole of the Delhi Golf Club.

Defending champion and second seed Ashok Kumar and fourth seed Vijay Kumar notched up identical margins of 3 & 2 against Rudresh Sharma and Abhishek Jha.
