DU crowned shooting champions

Delhi University, with 34 points, emerged overall champions in the All-India Inter-University Shooting Championship organised by the Jiwaji University at Gwalior.

Delhi University, with 34 points, emerged overall champions in the All-India Inter-University Shooting Championship organised by the Jiwaji University at Gwalior.

The DU men's team of Mohit Singh (575), Vijay Tomar (577) and Sarpreet Singh (583) clinched gold in the air rifle (peep sight) event with an aggregate score of 1735. The silver went to Shivaji University with an aggregate of 1716 points.

The DU air pistol team of Ravindra Kumar (558), Ankush (554) and Digvijay Malik (556) aggregated 1668 to clinch silver behind Kurukshetra University with 1558 points.

Punjab University (Chandigarh) was a close second with 29 points. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia gave away the trophy.
