Gopi plays down Saina’s ankle injury

Saina Nehwal's coach Pulella Gopi Chand has emphasised that the World No.4 Indian's ouster from the event on Wednesday was not due to an ankle injury.

Saina Nehwal's coach Pulella Gopi Chand has emphasised that the World No.4 Indian's ouster from the event on Wednesday was not due to an ankle injury.

"She is disappointed but she had no problems with her ankle. She has recovered from it," he said. He admitted that her movement on court was not good but said it was not because of the niggles. When asked if there is a possibility of Saina pulling out of next week's Malaysia Open Grand Prix, he said:

"I don't see that happening. As of now she is participating in it."
