The tournament, held on Sunday, included top English club teams like Yorkshire all stars, British Asian Rugby Association and the hosts Bradford and Bingley (The Bees).

The India rugby team is in Britain as part of their 10-day training programme for the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games.

Last week, India beat Dubai Frogs to win the Rugby sevens tournament in Istanbul.

India beat the favourites Yorkshire Select Green 26-24 in the finals. The Indian team were trailing 21-24 but were able to score a try in the final minute before the hooter went off.

The Indian team was undefeated in the league stage and had a thrilling match against the hosts, in which India fought back and emerged victorious in final minutes of the match with a final score of 16-14.

"This is the second tournament in a row we have won, the first being the Istanbul 7’s. This tournament was tougher and winning this tournament is a fantastic morale booster for the team. We are heading back to India now and then we leave for the Shanghai 7’s which is one of the top Asian Rugby tournaments," Indian Rugby captain Nasser Hussain said.
