Indian girls in quarters of World Junior Squash Championships

Putting up a dominating show, Indian girls on Thursday advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Championships after trouncing Ecuador 3-0 in their final pool C match in Boston.

Putting up a dominating show, Indian girls on Thursday advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Championships after trouncing Ecuador 3-0 in their final pool C match in Boston.

Indian girls did not lose even a single game in the whole tie as Anaka Alankamony, Ankita Sharma and Aparajitha Balamurukan scored comfortable victories.

India topped pool C with this victory.

Anaka gave a strong start to India as she thrashed Mireya Lucia Espinosa Proano 11-0, 11-2, 11-0.

Ankita then not only doubled the lead but wrote the tie in India's name by beating Maria Jose Guarderas Sevilla 11-2, 11-5, 11-2.

Aparajitha made it 3-0 for India when she beat Nicole Gordillo Bravo 11-5, 11-2, 11-5.

India will play England in the quarterfinals on Friday.
