She is also doubtful for the Inter-State championships, in Chennai from October 21. If the Railways athlete skips that meet she wouldn't be eligible for the Asian Championships in Guanghzou, China, from November 21. Sushmita has won silver and bronze respectively in the last two editions of the Asian Championships in Incheon and Amman.

Sushmita injured her left hamstring during a competition in England a couple of months back. Core Group athletes had gone to England for a month-long training-cum-competition camp. "It was raining heavily during the hurdles event when she slipped and hurt herself," coach Kuntal Roy said.

Sushmita is undergoing rehab under Dr Vikas Kapur at the Armenian Church Trauma Center in south Kolkata.
