RONJAN SODHI, who had a dream run last year by winning two World Cup medals, added another medal to his kitty by clinching the men's double trap gold in the 6th Sardar Sajjan Singh Shooting Championship on Friday.

The Punjab shooter fired 182, including a superb 47 in the final round, for the top honours at the New Moti Bagh Gun Club. Vikram Chopra with a total of 173 grabbed the silver and Mohammab Azhab (167) won bronze.

Earlier, all eyes were on Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore but the Athens Olympics silver medallist came up with a below-par performance of 122 out of a possible 150 in the qualifying round. He was the sixth and last to make the cut in the final round but did not turn up for the double trap final.

Army shooter Seema Tomar grabbed the women's double trap gold with a total score of 79. Versha Tomar, who gave Seema a tough fight, had to settle for silver at 78.
