Vijender, playing his first international tournament after the gold medal winning performance at the 2010 Asian Games, will be taking on Western Australian boxer Jeremy van Diemen in a Men's Light Heavyweight bout.

The boxer is the favourite for a gold at 2012's London Olympics and might face his toughest challenge in the tournament from Queenland's Damien Hooper, who will be fighting Mohd Fairus Azwan Abdullah (MAS) on Tuesday night.

Arafura Games boxing coordinator Boyd Scully is keenly looking forward to see the boxer perform and said, "I have heard a lot about Singh - it will be very interesting to see him perform here in Darwin."

He also said while he was looking forward to watch the high-profile boxer perform in his arena, he was more so hoping for Queensland's Damien Hooper to put up a good fight.

"Of course I hope he'll perform well - a final with Damien and Mr Singh on Friday would make a great night."

Vijender Singh's bout is being webcast live here.
