Vikram Saran tops in formula Rolon

Saran Vikram of Mars Racing stamped his authority on the Formula Rolon class that could well have lived its final season by winning the title in the 13th JK Tyre National Racing Championship that concluded here Sunday.

Saran Vikram of Mars Racing stamped his authority on the Formula Rolon class that could well have lived its final season by winning the title in the 13th JK Tyre National Racing Championship that concluded here Sunday.

After a non-finish in the first race of the double-header on Saturday that witnessed much chaos and confusion, Vikram clinched the honours by winning the second race on Sunday for his sixth win in 12 outings in the series.

Vikram finished on 63 points followed by local schoolboy G Vikash Anand (50) of VA-RAD Racing and Pune's Chitesh Mandody (43) of Mohite's Racing. The revamped Rolon class has faced endless gremlins through the season and the Paddock talk suggests that the category might be scrapped next year.

TVS Girling won the team honours in Formula Swift and while Amaron clinched the Formula Rolon title while former champion VA Radha Selvaraj's VA-RAD Racing topped in the Super Saloons.
