On Thursday, accepting responsibility for the attack, a Maoist spokesperson said it was in retaliation to the state government’s Operation Greenhunt. He claimed they have managed to take away 3 AK-47s, 11 SLRs and 16 INSAS rifles.
Two private security personnel and three jawans of the Special Auxilliary Police (SAP) had been killed in the attack.
