LJP supremo Ramvilas Paswan on Tuesday charged Nitish Kumar government with “dividing dalits for political gains” and threatened that his party together with Dalit Sena would launch agitation if the state government failed to make public recommendations of the Mahadalit Commission, Extremely-Backward Commission and Land Reforms Commission.

“The Nitish Kumar government is dividing the dalits for mere political gains. Constitution of Mahadalit Commission is a part of the sinister design,” Paswan said while addressing a press conference.

“We demand that the state government make public recommendations of all these commissions failing which his party with Dalit Sena will take recourse to agitational programmes,” Paswan said.

“By constituting the Commission for Mahadalits, Nitish Kumar is deliberately trying to divide the community,” Paswan said and alleged that the state government had “hoodwinked and cheated” the landless people by not not implementing the recommendations of the Land Reforms Commission.

“We are not not going to tolerate this type of divide and rule policy. The LJP and Dalit Sena activists will launch fill-the-jail campaign for two days on July 27 and July 28 next to highlight the Nitish Kumar government’s sinister designs to foment tension in society,” Paswan said.
