Youth stabs 10-year-old girl for resisting rape attempt in Bihar’s Kaimur district

A youth allegedly inflicted stab wounds on the hand of a minor girl when she resisted a rape attempt in west Bihar’s Kaimur district.
Police said accused Lav Kush Bind fled from the scene when the 10-year-old girl fell unconscious after raising an alarm.
The incident took place at Pachhehara in Belaon police station area, 18 km south of Kaimur district headquarters Bhabua on Sunday night.
Some women, who were in a nearby field, found the girl lying unconscious and informed her family. After initial treatment at a private clinic at Belaon, the girl was taken to Bhabua sadar hospital,where the doctors stitched her wounds.
Police said the girl’s father registered a case with woman police station, Bhabua, on Monday. In his FIR, the girl’s father alleged that Bind inflicted stab injuries on her left hand with a sharp edged weapon when she resisted his attempt.
Raids were being conducted to arrest the absconding boy, Kaimur superintendent of police Harpreet Kaur said.
