PHOTOS: Looking back at Delhi’s colourful Durga Puja celebrations

Durga Puja celebrations begin on day six, known as Sasthi. Over the next few days the Goddess is worshipped in her various avatars. In Delhi, devotees visit pandals all over the city, the most prominent ones being in CR Park. People come to see the pandals till late at night, and there are a lot of food stalls serving delicious food items. Vijaya Dashmi is when the celebrations come to an end, with chants, loud drumbeats and the idols being carried away to be immersed in rivers.
