Photos: The Irregulars Art Fair opens in New Delhi

The Irregulars Art Fair, a self styled anti-art exhibiton is currently underway at Studio Khirki in New Delhi from February 08 to 11. The art fair presents contemporary artists who aren't already mainstream and gives them free reign over the space and the visitors' experience of it.

The Irregulars Art Fair opened its inaugural show to public viewing on February 09 in New Delhi, running parallel to the India Art Fair. The fair hopes to create a platform for contemporary independent artists to “foster a dialogue that transcends prescribed geographies, hierarchies, and markets”, thus “creating an alternative space for the irregular arts, for the weird and the bizarre”. Each artist was provided 2-3 weeks before the exhibition to convert a room into their personal exhibition space, as they see fit --as a performance space, or a site specific installation piece. The artists will be present for the duration of the show. (Anushree Fadnavis / HT Photo)
