Former defence minister George Fernandes died on Tuesday morning in Delhi aged 88. He had been ailing for the past few years. Fernandes, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, had been bed-ridden for more than eight years, family sources said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise, saying he was frank and fearless and never deviated from his ideology. (PTI File)
