The India Meteorological Department has issued the Orange Warning, which predicts the landfall and the likely impact of a cyclone, alerting government agencies that the cyclone is about 24 hours away from the coast. A day after the wreckage of the AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force was located in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district, personnel from IAF, Army and mountaineers have been airlifted to the crash site. The wreckage the missing military transport plane carrying 13 people was spotted eight days after it disappeared from radar screens and triggered frantic efforts to locate it. (ANI)

ISRO has announced the launch date for India’s ambitious second moon mission, Chandrayan-2, powered by GSLVMK 3 and will be launched on July 15 at 2.51 am. Chandrayaan 2 has three modules: the Orbiter, Lander (Vikram) and the Rover (Pragyan). The rover will be housed inside the lander according to ISRO. (PTI)

A SpiceJet flight returning from Dubai made a safe landing at Jaipur even after one of the tyres of the aircraft burst. The landing took place at 9:03 am. All 189 passengers and the crew members are safe. “While aircraft was descending at Jaipur, pilots were informed by Jaipur ATC of suspected tyre burst at Dubai. The crew followed their procedures and landed safely at Jaipur,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said. (ANI)
