Karthyayani Amma, the oldest candidate who appeared for the “Aksharalaksham” programme of the state-run Kerala State Literacy Mission Authority, has scored 98 marks out of 100. “Saw children studying and got inspired, never got opportunity when young otherwise would have become government official. On Thursday officials said that security forces killed two unidentified militants after a gun battle in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, two days after a nephew of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar was shot down in Pulwama. Police said the operation was launched in the morning based on credible inputs about the presence of militants in Zagoo village. (HT Arvhive)
