Photos: India nears 400,000 cases with biggest single-day spike yet

On June 20, India recorded 14,516 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), taking the country’s infection tally to 395,048. Active cases are at 168,269 and 213,830 people have been cured of the respiratory disease so far. The death toll in the country has now risen to 12,948. Down south, Chennai has been put under total lockdown till June 30, along with 3 other districts, to curb the spread of the virus.
