Photos: India’s single-day Covid-19 recoveries outstrip new cases

India’s single-day recoveries from Covid-19 exceeded the number of fresh infections reported for the second consecutive day, data from the health ministry showed on September 20 even as the cumulative case count rose past 5.4 million. The country has been in recent days adding the most number of cases globally --upwards of 90,000 cases daily. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh continue to remain the five worst-hit states and report the highest number of casualties.
