Karwa Chauth is a festival celebrated by Hindu women every year, and this year it falls on October 17. It is mostly celebrated in northern India, four days after a full moon in the month of Kartika. It is based on the lunisolar calendar. On this day, married woman fast for the safety and long life of their husbands. Karwa Chauth is predominantly celebrated in the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
