Photos: Night curfew returns as Maharashtra raises alert on virus strain

Maharashtra imposed a night curfew on December 22 across all cities and municipal corporation areas including the country's financial hub Mumbai because of fears about the new coronavirus strain from the United Kingdom. In addition, all air passengers from anywhere in Europe, South Africa or the Middle East will have to go into institutional quarantine upon arrival and then be tested for the viral infection. The new 7-hour night curfew runs 11pm to 6am and will be in place for a fortnight, until January 5, 2021.
