A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two men in a lodge room on Thursday morning between 7:30 and 11:30 while she was on her way to college, according to the police.

A person identified as Mahesh Bidwe (23), was arrested on Thursday and sent to police custody by a local court. According to police officials, the girl was at a bus stop when the two men approached her and asked her to get in the car they were travelling in.

She refused and boarded a bus to Shivajinagar. The two then followed the bus and forced her into the car from the bus stop, according to the police officials. She was taken to a lodge near Alandi where the two verbally abused her, took turns and raped her. The duo also threatened her, said police officials.

The police are now on the lookout for the second man involved in the crime, according to police sub inspector (PSI) MT Shinde of Sangavi police station who is investigating the case.

The girl was taken to Sassoon hospital for medical tests. The incident comes a day after another case was registered under POCSO Act where a 15-year-old boy sodomised a 11-year-old boy in an ashram since the last few months, according to police.

The mother of the 11-year-old approached a policeman she knew, PI Satish Nikam of crime branch unit 2, who detained the 15-year-old boy and brought him to Bhosari police station, according to the Bhosari police.

A case has also been filed under Section 19 of POCSO Act against manager Devidas Lakshman Survase (53), as he knew about the incident and had tried to dissuade the mother of the child from filing a complaint.
