15-year-old run over by PMPML bus at Vishrantwadi dies
A 15-year-old boy succumbed to injuries after being run over by a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) bus on Wednesday morning at Vishrantwadi. The police have arrested the bus driver. The deceased was identified as Raees Ansari, a resident of Munjaba vasti locality in Dhanori. The accident took place around 8 am opposite the gate of Research & Development Establishment, Engineering (R&DE) located at Vishrantwadi. The bus driver has been identified as Yogesh Farande (36) of Mahtoba Alandi, Solapur road.
According to the Vishrantwadi police, Ansari was riding pillion on the two-wheeler with his friend Krishnakant Lonare (25), who lives in the same locality, and was going to Alandi to attend a marriage. When they were passing in front of the R& DE gate, a two-wheeler moving in front of them suddenly applied brake and Lonare lost control over his bike and hit the two-wheeler.
As Lonare and Ansari were lying on the road, the PMPML bus driven by Farande ran over the latter. Ansari was rushed to Sassoon hospital but succumbed to his injuries later. The police have registered a case under Section 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
