The eight-month-old girl, identified as Gauri Chabukswar, was kidnapped from her parents, Lakshmi Chabukswar and Gensiddha Chabukswar, by an unidentified woman on Tuesday evening. A case under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the railway police station against the unidentified woman.
The eight-month-old baby who was kidnapped from the Pune railway station was found by the city police on Monday evening along with the woman who kidnapped her. The two were found by officials of anti-extortion unit in Valhekarwadi region of Chinchwad.

The parents had come to the city from Ambegaon in Akkalkot three days before the kidnapping in search of work and were living on the railway station, officials said.
A case under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the railway police station against the unidentified woman. Senior police inspector Manoj Khandale of Pune railway police is investigating the case.
“She gained their trust after spending some time with them. She bought new clothes for the child and promised a job to her father as a security guard with a salary of ₹15,000. She then called one man and asked him to take them for dinner at a nearby eatery. She insisted upon taking care of the child while the parents had food. When the two came back, she was gone with their child,” Khandale had said on Wednesday.
