Man killed in hit-and-run, body found under Wakad bridge

The complaint in the matter was filed by a man identified as hawaldar Ajay Falle of Hinjewadi police station.

An unidentified man was killed in a hit-and-run case in the early hours of Tuesday. The body was found under the Wakad bridge along the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway.

A case under Sections 279 (rash driving), 304(a) (causing death due to negligence), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Sections 132(1)(c), 179, 119/177 of Motor Vehicle Act was registered against the unidentified driver. The deceased man is believed to be a beggar living on the street where he was killed. His body was sent to the nearest hospital for post-mortem.
