Minor Pune girl pregnant after being raped multiple times by 19-year-old

When the girl fell sick a few days ago, her aunt took her to the hospital. After examining the girl, the doctor revealed that she was three months pregnant. When questioned, the girl said that she was a victim of rape by her neighbour, Taru.

Pune police arrested a 19-year-old boy on Tuesday morning for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl for the past two months.

The 16-year-old, who was repeatedly raped by the 19-year-old person at Hadapsar, has become pregnant.The police identified the accused as Akshay Taru, a resident of Hadapsar. The accused has been remanded in police custody for three days by a court.

Supriya Gawade, police sub inspector (PSI), said, “According to a complaint filed by victim, we have arrested Taru for rape under POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. He raped her on multiple occasions and threatened her that he would kill her if she revealed the crime to anybody.”

According to the police, the matter came to light when the girl become pregnant. Following the revelation, she narrated how she was trapped and exploited by Taru, to her aunt.

The police took Taru, who is survived by his mother and father, into custody. Police sub inspector Supriya Gawade is investigating the case.
