My Nation My Vote: More opportunities should be given to the middle class says Praful Nikam, social activist, Pune
I would also like to see the youth leadership to play a bigger role

Praful Nikam, 36. Software professional turned social activist, Pune
Did you vote in the previous elections?
I started voting at the age of 26, after understanding the importance of the electoral process. I did vote in the last two Lok Sabha elections. I have also voted in the state assembly polls and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections.
What issues have mattered to you in the past?
Issues that mattered to me in the 2014 elections were the policy paralysis. The country seems to be stuck on many issues without moving ahead, whereas, China is taking the world head-on. Corruption in all sectors has been hampering the middle-class and the poor. These were some of the issues.
What issues matter to you today?
Judicial and electoral reforms, transparency in the governance and more opportunities to middle class to prosper are the needs of today. The primary work of the civic authorities is policy making. I want them to implement structural changes so that citizens get services in a transparent manner. I would also like to see the youth leadership to play a bigger role.
