Pune dentist molests 24-year-old assistant

The dentist had reportedly called the girl to work as his assistant in his hospital for a day

Hadapsar police registered a complaint against a medical professional identified as Dr Omkar Haridas (32) for allegedly molesting a 24-year-old dental assistant associated with his friend’s hospital based in Hadapsar. The incident occurred on September 8.

In her complaint to the police, the girl said that Dr Omkar Haridas called her to work as his assistant in his hospital. While working, he deliberately engaged his hospital nurse in some other work. Taking advantage of this, he molested the girl. Before this, Dr Omkar had given the job opportunity to the victim but she had refused it. Hence, Dr Omkar requested her to work at least for one day in the absence of his staff.

“We have registered a case against the dentist based on the girl’s complaint.There is no arrest in this case yet. We are investigating the case further,” said Manisha Nikam, police sub inspector who is investigating this case. 

Police have registered a case under section 354, 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on September 9.
