Pune records lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra at 16.7 degrees Celsius

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune, on Thursday, recorded a minimum temperature of 16.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius. Lohegaon recorded a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Pune recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra at 16.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded in Chandrapur at 45.1 degrees Celsius.

Officials have stated that the maximum temperature in the city in the coming week upto May 2 will be around 38 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to increase to 19 degrees Celsius during the period. (HT FILE PHOTO)

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune, on Thursday, recorded a minimum temperature of 16.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius. Lohegaon recorded a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 39.9 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Officials have stated that the maximum temperature in the city in the coming week upto May 2 will be around 38 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to increase to 19 degrees Celsius during the period.

According to temperature forecast released by IMD, from April 26 to May 2, heat waves may occur at one or two places over Vidarbha and plains of northwest India .

"The maximum temperatures are likely to be above 40 degrees Celsius over plains of northwest India and central India up to May 2. From May 3 to May 8, the maximum temperatures are likely to rise further and would be above 40 degrees Celsius over most of plains of northwest, central, east and north peninsular India. These temperatures would be near normal or above normal over most parts of the country. As a result, heat wave conditions may prevail over some parts over east and central India during this period," said IMD officials.
