“Residents who apply for the test online have to wait for at least three months in order to secure an appointment at the RTO. Considering this, we have decided to increase the daily quota of tests. We will be trying to reduce this waiting time to one day, if the applicant applies online for the test, he/she should get an appointment the next day,” said Ajit Shinde, Pune regional transport officer.

According to Shinde, from October 3, the daily quota of the learning licence test for two-wheeler riders will be increased from 450 to 550 tests per day. For the permanent licence, the quota has been increased from 300 to 360 tests per day.

“We are also increasing the quota for permanent licence test for two-wheelers to 360 and for autorickshaw permanent licence, the daily quota has been increased from 20 to 30,” added Shinde.
