Pune woman kills 4-year-old daughter, then commits suicide
According to reports, the deceased woman, who belongs to Tamil Nadu, was facing marital problems.
Kaumudi Isapann, a 25-year-old resident of Indrayani Nagar in Bhosari, hanged herself to death at her residence after killing her four-year-old daughter, Devashri Isapann, around 9 am on Wednesday. Her husband, Shankar Isapann, is a businessman working in Chakan at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
The family is from Tamil Nadu, according to the police and the deceased woman's cousin brother lives with the family. Their relatives also live in the vicinity. Kaumudi was not on good terms with her husband and she had left his house to live with her parents. Later, she returned to her husband's house.
The reason behind the drastic step could not be identified immediately. When the woman did not come out of the house to drop her daughter to school, the relatives grew suspicious and visited her house. When Kaumudi did not answer the door, the incident came to light and the police was informed. Further details regarding the case are awaited.
