St Vincent’s, St Mira’s power to 4x400 inter-school relay titles

In the under-19 girls, St Mira’s school won 4x400 relay title in 5.06.84s. They were followed by Vishwakarma Vidyalaya who clocked 5.20.40s and Priyadarshani High School was third with 5.30.56s.

St Vincent’s High School boys clocked 3.53.47s to win the title in the 4X400m relay event in the boys under-19 category during inter-school athletics tournament at the Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex in Balewadi on Thursday.

The tournament was organised by District Sports Council and Education Board. Vidya Bhavan athletes finished second with a timing of 4.05.98s, while SP College boys clocked 4.08.85s to finish third.

In the under-19 girls, St Mira’s school won 4x400 relay title in 5.06.84s. They were followed by Vishwakarma Vidyalaya who clocked 5.20.40s and Priyadarshani High School was third with 5.30.56s.

In the girls under-19 hurdles, Sakshi Yerne of Modern College won the title.

She finished the event in 69.06s. Riddhi Patil of SP College and Shreya Chandankar of HHCP High School grabbed second and third place respectively

Meanwhile, in the under-17 boys’ segment, Akshay Govardhan of Loyola School emerged fastest in 200m event.

He finished first with a timing of 22.7s. Suraj Ankola of Pride English School clocked 23.43s to finish second while Aman Pillay of Vidya Bhavan finished third with 24.45s.

In the under-17 girls, Avantika Narale of Lonkar School won the 200m event clocking 25.85s.

She was followed by Abha Salunkhe of SES Gurukul and Anushka Gujar of Abhinav who were placed second and third respectively.

In the same age group, Ayushi Bhand won the long jump event. She jumped 4.74m.

Her schoolmate Rutuja Jadhav finished second 4.68m while Yugandhara Garware of Hutchings jumped 4.61m to claim the third spot.
