Three ATM thefts reported in Pune

Three cases of automated teller machine (ATM) thefts have been registered at three police stations in the city on Monday.

In the first case, the Swargate police lodged an FIR against unknown persons for stealing cash placed in an ATM and estimated to be worth Rs 31.03 lakh, between February 13 and February 14. Rajesh Usgaonkar, sub-inspector, Swargate police station, stated that the cash officer has been arrested in connection with the theft on Tuesday.

According to the police, the second and third cases took place on March 7 in Kondhwa where unidentified individuals withdrew Rs 19,500 and Rs 50,000 via cloned ATM cards, from two ATMs. Whether the two cases are connected is yet to be determined. The Kondhwa police have filed a case against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information and Technology Act.
