Two teens detained for sexual abuse of minor in Pune

The Warje police have detained two minors on Friday for allegedly sexually abusing a nine-year-old on May 1. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the accused, boys aged 13 and 14 years respectively, took the victim to a nearby brick kiln and asked him to call his sister. When the victim refused to do so, the boys threatened him and sexually abused him. The incident took place at 6pm.
Police have booked the two boys under Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso).
Thieves decamp with cash, gold worth Rs 3 lakh at Baner
Shweta Parwani (37), a resident of Baner, has lodged a complaint with the Chatuhshrungi police stating that some unidentified thieves gained entry into her house located in Crystal Avenue Society, B wing in Baner, and decamped with cash and valuables estimated to be worth Rs 3.07 lakh on April 27.
According to the police, the thieves broke open the door locks at a time when the inmates were out of station and decamped with gold, cash, watches and kitchen equipment.
“Sniffer dog squad was pressed into action to obtain leads on the case,” a police official said.
