U-16 basketball: MASA secures one-point victory over All Stars to enter semi-final

The game looked pretty good in the first quarter with both teams pacing up and down the court trying to get the initial upper hand.

Millennium After School Activity (MASA) held their nerves in dying moments of the game to secure a 33-32 win over All Stars to enter the semi-final of the Sanjay Mahadeo Nimhan Memorial under-16 district basketball championship at Deccan Gymkhana on Friday.

The game looked pretty good in the first quarter with both teams pacing up and down the court trying to get the initial upper hand. The score was 2-2 until the last minute of the first quarter after which All Stars made it 4-2.

Till the half time whistle, MASA didn’t seem to stop attacking and made a conscious effort at keeping the All Stars at bay within their half ending it at 11-19. All Stars managed a complete turnaround in the third quarter with cool heads and back-to-back baskets.

Converting most of their free shots they sealed the score at 20-21 with just one basket deficit. The final quarter was action packed with both managers on their toes.

With one team securing the lead, the other was swift in stealing it. However, it was MASA who had last hurray to script a 33-32 victory.
