Uncle held in Pune for sexual attack on niece, days after finishing 14-year jail term for rape of 9-year-old
Lahu Devram Pawar is in police custody for abducting and allegedly raping his five-year-old niece. He lured her to come with him on the promise of a chocolate and her mother filed a case after she went missing
The Ahmednagar police have arrested Lahu Devram Pawar for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece.
Pawar was arrested on Monday night when his sister approached the police to report her daughter missing.
On investigating the case, police discovered that Lahu Pawar had recently finished a jail term for raping a nine-year-old girl.
He was sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment for that crime.
Police said that Lahu promised his niece a chocolate and took her to another village.
Forty-five-year old Lahu is the resident of Jalalpur village in Karjat tehsil of Ahmednagar.
Police tracked Lahu and the five-year-old victim to Pimpalgao village in Pune district.
The girl was abducted from Ukkadgaon village in Ahmednagar district.
The girl has been admitted to hospital while Lahu is in police custody.
