Vikram Kumar, the former chief executive officer at the Maharashtra Maritime Board, has been appointed as the new metropolitan commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

The state government appointed Kumar to the post on Tuesday.
He will be the fourth metropolitan commissioner of PMRDA. The post fell vacant after his predecessor Kiran Gitte was recalled to his home cadre in Tripura and the post was briefly held by the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar.
The government also announced the transfer of Pune zilla parishad chief executive officer Suraj Mandhare as the Nashik district collector.
