Water tank cleaner electrocuted in Chikhali

Police officials investigating the case said that the water inside the tank accidentally conducted electricity from a stray wire, which eventually led to a tragedy.

A labourer, who was busy cleaning a water tank in Chikhali, died after he was electrocuted on Friday morning. According to the Nigdi police, the deceased identified as Amar Khilare (25), a resident of Thergaon, and co-worker Siddhartha Kale (30) were busy cleaning a water tank with a machine when Khilare got electrocuted. The water tank is located in Gharkul Prakalp in Chikhali.

Police officials investigating the case said that the water inside the tank accidentally conducted electricity from a stray wire, which eventually led to a tragedy. Both Khilare and Kale fell inside the tank following the electric shock. Khilare died on the spot while Kale is recuperating at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri. Doctors at the hospital described his condition as stable.
