15-year-old boy drowns while bathing in canal
A 15-year-old boy, on Sunday, drowned in the canal at Kotla near Ranike bridge in Dhuri sub-division of the district. The body of the deceased, identified as Rahul Kumar of Ambedkar Nagar, Sangrur, was fished out after 25 minutes of the incident.

A 15-year-old boy, on Sunday, drowned in the canal at Kotla near Ranike bridge in Dhuri sub-division of the district. The body of the deceased, identified as Rahul Kumar of Ambedkar Nagar, Sangrur, was fished out after 25 minutes of the incident.
According to the police, Rahul, along with his three friends, had gone to the canal for 'Ganpati visarjan' on Sunday evening. He drowned when they were taking bath after performing the ceremony. After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family. A case under Section 174CrPC has been registered.
