3 booked for embezzlement
The local police have booked three persons, including a couple, on the charges of cheating and embezzling Rs 65.62 lakh on Friday. The accused have been identified as Harbhajan Singh, his wife Harpreet Kaur and Hakam Singh.

The local police have booked three persons, including a couple, on the charges of cheating and embezzling Rs 65.62 lakh on Friday. The accused have been identified as Harbhajan Singh, his wife Harpreet Kaur and Hakam Singh.
Harbhajan was employed as a salesman in a local food company. The trio started fake firms on duplicate firms and took food material on credit.
The matter came to light when complainant Balwant Singh, a resident of Patiala, did not get his money back despite repeated requests.
"The three accused are at large and attempts are on to nab them," the police said.
