30-yr-old man found dead, cops suspect case of drug overdose

The body of a 30-year-old unidentified man was found near Daresi Ground here on Sunday. Police have sent the body to the civil hospital for post-mortem examination and suspected a case of drug overdose.

Om Parkash, station house officer (SHO), Daresi police station, said police reached the spot after receiving the information that an unidentified body was lying near Daresi Ground opposite Shitla Mata Mandir, on Sunday morning.

He also said that police were investigating the cause of the death and had also checked close circuit television (CCTVs) cameras installed at nearby buildings.

According to police, the CCTV footage showed that the man crossed the road and fell down. He removed clothes, groped in the pockets for something and after sometime, died.

The SHO said police were waiting for the post-mortem report and appropriate action will be taken.
