The victim works at a brick-kiln at Sayian Kalan village and lives with her family in a shanty near the brick-kiln.

In her complaint, she alleged that on Friday night while she was alone in her shanty, four men barged in and tied up her hands and legs with a rope on gunpoint, before taking turns to rape her.

They then broke open her trunk and stole gold and silver jewellery from it, besides Rs 60,000 in cash.

She stated that her husband, who came returned from the brick-kiln in the wee hours of Saturday, untied the rope and freed her, following which she filed a police complaint.

Inspector Gurtej Singh, station house officer (SHO) at Dehlon police station, said they had registered a case under sections 376 (rape) and 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Aand sections 3 and 4 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act on Friday following the statement of the victim, adding that efforts were on to trace the accused.

Earlier, on April 20, three incidents of rape were reported from the city, with the victims in two of them being minors.
