85-ft effigy to go up in flames at Sector-46 ground in Chandigarh

As the time approaches to burn Ravana effigies at various locations of the city, Sanatan Dharam Dussehra Committee of Sector 46 is all set to burn the tallest effigy — 85-ft— continuing this record since 1998. The Meghnad (80 ft) and Kumbhkaran (72 ft) which also go in flames on Tuesday.

UT administrator VP Singh Badnore will be the chief guest, while municipal commissioner B Purusharta will be the guest of honour.

Chief patron of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jatinder Bhatia said, “We are dedicating this Dussehra to the martyrs of Uri attacks. We have three-tier security system.

We also have a replica of ‘Ashok Vatika’ with Sita sitting under a tree as an added attraction.”
