AAP expands organisation structure in poll-bound Punjab

The new vice presidents are CD Kamboj, Balbir Singh Saini, Baldev Singh Azad, Boota Singh Ashant, CM Lakhanpal, Inderbir Singh Nijjer, Mohan Singh Phalianwala, Mehar Singh Malli (Mohali) and Dalbir Singh Dhillon.

The Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) expanded its organisational structure in the poll-bound state with appointment of 14 new office-bearers on Wednesday.

Punjab AAP convener Gurpreet Singh Warring ‘Ghuggi’ said the party has appointed nine new vice-presidents and five joint secretaries.

The new vice presidents are CD Kamboj, Balbir Singh Saini, Baldev Singh Azad, Boota Singh Ashant, CM Lakhanpal, Inderbir Singh Nijjer, Mohan Singh Phalianwala, Mehar Singh Malli (Mohali) and Dalbir Singh Dhillon.

Major Singh, Varinder Singh Khara, Harinder Singh Amritsar, Lalit and Sarika Verma were appointed joint secretaries of the party’s state unit. Jaideep Singh Samrala has been appointed the head of volunteer welfare and management wing. At present, he is working as a national joint secretary of the AAP.

Akali leader joins AAP

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and chairman of Dhaliwal market committee, Wazir Singh Lally, on Wednesday joined the AAP. State convener Gurpreet Ghuggi said Lally is among few SAD leaders who remained taintless in their political career despite being part of the “corrupt Akali regime”.

Lally was also circle jathedar of SAD and was elected for third time as sarpanch of Sandhar village. Lally’s wife Prabhjot Kaur is also a zila parishad member.
