Adopted daughter kills woman
A woman was allegedly murdered in a village here by her adopted daughter, who kept the body in a box for five days. Victim Rani (60), a native of Jhoke Harihar village, 6 km from here, had been a member of the village panchayat for the past 15 years.

A woman was allegedly murdered in a village here by her adopted daughter, who kept the body in a box for five days. Victim Rani (60), a native of Jhoke Harihar village, 6 km from here, had been a member of the village panchayat for the past 15 years.
She was staying with Jyoti (20), her adopted daughter, whom she had found on a roadside years ago.
The woman allegedly went missing five days ago. Jyoti had also lodged a complaint with the police about her going missing. But the police could not find her.
On Thursday, neighbours noticed foul smell emanating from the house and informed the police. When the police searched the house, they found the body of the woman stuffed in a locked box. Jyoti cofessed to have commited the crime.
