Ambala: 1 killed, 20 injured in bus-truck collision

One person was today killed and 20 others injured when a truck collided with a Haryana Roadways bus on Ambala-Jagadhri road near Ambala Cantt.

One person was today killed and 20 others injured when a truck collided with a Haryana Roadways bus on Ambala-Jagadhri road near Ambala Cantt.

The bus was on its way to Yamunanagar from Ambala Cantonment when it collided with the truck coming from the other side, police said.

While the bus driver died on the spot, the truck driver who sustained serious head injury has been sent to PGIMER hospital in Chandigarh, they said.

Most of the injured were admitted to civil hospital at Ambala Cantt while five of the injured were sent to Mulana Medical College, they said.

State Health Minister Anil Vij visited the accident site and met the injured in the hospital.

The traffic on Ambala-Jagadhri Highway remained blocked for around half an hour after the accident, police said.
