Amritsar district admin clarifies no curfew and military deployment in city

Taking strong notice of a message being spread by peace-disrupting elements on social media regarding curfew and deployment of military in Amritsar, the district administration late on Sunday evening warned those people behind the dissemination of this message and said the administration has initiated process to trace those elements creating panic amongst citizens.

Clarifying that there was complete peace and harmony in Amritsar, it has been stated that there was no curfew like situation and any deployment of military. Administration said such rumours had sole purpose to disrupt peace and communal concord, but the perpetrator of this anti-social message would be brought to book.

The district administration also urged the people to beware of rumour-mongers and wrong and baseless messages being forwarded through social media. It has also been reiterated that law and order situation was fully under control and it would be maintained at all cost.
